I’m excited to share some music news. After many years of writing and producing solo, I am thrilled to announce a new music project: Two Lands.
This project marks my first music collaboration in a long time, and it brings together a unique blend of talents and cultures.
Two Lands is a collaboration between myself and the extraordinarily gifted Swedish singer and writer, Cecilia Sternemo. Cecilia is a rare talent, possessing an incredible vocal range and a remarkable ability to write and sing in multiple languages, including English, Swedish, and Arabic. Her versatility and depth add a rich, textured layer to our music that is truly exceptional.
Our collaboration has already been an exciting journey, carried out long distance with me in the UK and Cecilia in Stockholm. We’ve turned physical distance to our advantage, sharing and developing ideas remotely then pulling together to finesse the results. This allows us to blend our individual styles and cultural influences into something truly special.
We are honoured to have our music published by Archangel Music/BMG, and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Daryl Bamonte for his faith in our project. His belief in our music has been essential in bringing Two Lands to life, and we are deeply appreciative of his support.
Our first single, “London”, is set to be released this Thursday. We chose this as our first release, as it is themed around moving to London, something we both experienced at the same time.
Cecilia’s lyrics capture the energy and endless potential of the city: its vibrant streets, the sense of new beginnings, the bittersweet moments that come with change and moving on – and of course the weather (“It always rains on Sunday”). We hope it resonates with anyone who has ever stepped into the unknown and embraced the adventure that comes with it.
We hope you enjoy “London” as a first step into Two Lands. This project represents a blending of cultures, voices, and stories, and I believe it holds something special for everyone.
